Altınbeşik Mağarası

In İbradı, a cave holding one of Türkiye's largest underground lakes. Visitors travel the first section by rowing boat across the water — one of only a handful of such caves in the country.

Altınbeşik is a vast three-level cave system running deep into the Taurus mountains. The lower level, open to visitors, is filled with water for most of the year, so the first part of the visit is made by boat. Rowing in the dark beneath enormous stalactites is one of the region's most unusual experiences.

Inside, travertine has built natural dams and terraces. These formations hold the water in stepped pools and create the 'cradle' shape the cave is named after. The lighting is arranged to bring out the formations.

Getting there takes effort: roughly two hours of mountain driving from Manavgat or Side. The route passes through the Akseki–İbradı villages, known for their traditional timber-and-stone architecture — enough to turn the trip into a full day in the mountains.
