10 Things to Do in Antalya with Kids
· 6 min read
Antalya is one of Türkiye's best-equipped destinations for families with children. Alongside the beaches, indoor options, nature activities and theme parks make it easy to build a programme for any age. Here are ten tried and tested activities.
1. Antalya Aquarium: Home to one of the world's longest tunnel aquariums. With its snow room and wildlife sections it easily fills 2–3 hours, and it is ideal for escaping the summer heat.
2. Tünektepe cable car: Reaching the summit in a few minutes to see the whole bay is exciting for children. Stop at the restaurant on top and wait for sunset.
3. Düden Waterfall: The point where the water drops off the cliffs into the sea makes an easy and impressive outing, with walking paths through the park. The cave passage at Upper Düden is also a hit.
4. Boat trip: Tours from the Kaleiçi marina usually last 1–2 hours and show the cliffs and waterfall from the sea. Being short, they keep younger children engaged.
5. Aquaparks: Most hotels in Lara and Belek have pools with slides, and there are also day-entry water parks in the city.
6. Kurşunlu Waterfall: A calm park 20 km from the centre with short, easy forest trails. Practical to fit in on the way to the airport.
7. Antalya Museum: It may sound long, but the layout is child-friendly; the sculpture halls and mosaics hold attention. An hour to ninety minutes is enough.
8. Karaalioğlu Park: Wide lawns, play areas and clifftop views make it ideal for a late-afternoon break. Hıdırlık Tower is right beside it.
9. Manavgat Waterfall and river trip: The broad falls and a boat ride fit easily into the same day as a Side visit.
10. Shallow beaches: The fine sand and gentle entry at Lara and Belek suit small children better than Konyaaltı's pebbles and quick drop-off.
Practical tip: In summer the sun is fierce between 11:00 and 16:00. Split the programme into early morning and late afternoon, and reserve midday for indoor activities or the hotel pool.
